WOW! Lol no kidding man. Well hopefully it will have been worth the wait and it will arrive and be the correct medication. Thank u for keeping me updated

Well, it has still not arrived. Maybe its stuck in customs or something. A friend of mine said that happens kind of often. I emailed them twice and they responded pretty quickly each time but fail to provide any tracking info (I asked twice). They said I should have received it by yesterday (26th). They said they will ship a replacement. So I guess I'll be posting back in another month LOL. I don't think I have large amount of options.

Unkel j that sucks man. I finally got my hands on some sentinel. It turns out my cousin who lives in ocean city maryland is very good friends with a vet who keeps a reef tank so he was more than happy to help. I hope yours arrives soon man it did wonders in my tank. Only one treatment and I havent seen a simgle red bug since!!!

Awesome! did you see any stress? Despite all the success stories, I'm still a little nervous about doing it.
I will get it eventually. If this falls through I'll just go somewhere else.

The only negative effect I had to deal with was the loss of my pods. I had a massive pod pop that had been going strong for years. It has been really really hard to get it going again. When I first seeded the system I did it over several months with no pod specific eaters in the tank. Now im trying to do it with 3 of them!! Otherwise though it knocked the red bugs out overnight and havent seen one since. No stress to corals, fish, snails, nem, or urchin!

What about shrimp and crabs?

I dont keep anything with claws in my reef tank because I had peppermint shrimp that went rogue a year ago and shredded a plate, frogspawn, starfish, and bubble tip nem. I imagine it prob woulda killed them though. I wouldnt risk any crustacean I would catch them and float them in a bag in my sump before adding the milbemicyn

23 mg treats 380 us gallons. For 29 gallons you need about 1.8 mg. obviously the best route for you would me to weight the tablet and go from there unless you have a measuring device for mg. in that case I guess you could crush the tablet into a powder and measure it. 1.8 mg is basically 1/13th of the tablet. I guess you could try cutting it into quarters and then cut each quarter into equal quarters giving you sixteen pieces and use 1.5 of those pieces. I honestly dont believe it needs to be 100% exact but rather just a close estimate. I actually used a little more than recommended and saw zero ill effects. I still to this day have not had a single red bug since treatment and didnt even notice any stress much less a loss of life other than my pods. Obviously you dont want to grossly overdose but just try and get it relatively close. If you have any questions feel free to ask as its pretty fresh in my head since i just treated about a month or so ago

I guess I should have gotten small dog tablets lol. Thank you very much for your help. I'm pretty busy and have a lot going on right now So it might be a little bit before I do it but I'll post back here with my results. Thanks again Greg.

No problem man glad to help in any way I can. Good luck when you do it and I dont mean to insult your intelligence but dont forget to remove carbon and the airline to your skimmer!! I know it seems like a no brainer but one time I had to treat a fish for flukes and the fish ended up dying because I completely forgot to pull the carbon out of the hang on back filter on the QT before I added the prazi! Days were going by and he was getting worse and I couldnt figure out why and I remember looking up and seeing the top to the carbon bag in the filter and just wanted to punch myself in the face lol. Anyhow good luck again hopefully youll be red bug free in no time!

Ive been looking around and it seems the original Interceptor that just contained Milbemycin Oxime and not the Lufenuron was discontinued by the manufacturer...is this correct?

If so will the Sentinel with Milbemycin Oxime and Lufenuron work the same?

Yes it was discontinued about two years ago. You can use either interceptor spectrum or sentinel spectrum. Both contain milbemycin but they also both contain praziquentenal. Prazi is the main ingredient in prazi pro, its a dewormer. The concentration is low enough that you should have no issues. I used the sentinel spectrum about a month or so ago and saw zero ill effects on my tank and its inhabitants.

Awesome!!!!!!

I did my first dose on Saturday (the 5th). I saw no stress at all. It was like I didn't even do it. About 3-4 hours after I dosed the tank I could not find a single red bug! I could barely believe it. I left it in for 12 hours anyways even though they were gone in 4. I am going to repeat treatment this coming Saturday and the following one too. I am super happy and cant wait for my acros to finally reach their full potential!:celeb1:
