Separate pH probe for QT/HT?

I just purchased a new Pinpoint pH meter/probe for use in my DT. I was wondering how many folks owned a separate probe for their QT/HT and how many just gave it a good rinsing in RO/DI when moving between tanks.

I have separate everything else ... I'm guessing another 40 bucks on a second probe is probably worth it.

Hrm. On 2d thought, you couldn't just have a 2d probe, as the calibrations wouldn't be the same. Need an entirely separate meter/probe.

I use "used" DT water in my QT, so never test PH. If you set up and tear down between fish; I don't think you'd ever need to test PH unless you use hypo. (Except at set-up, when the water hasn't been contaminated). In any case, if the probe is rinsed and dries overnight, its safe.

BTW, what do you have in your tap water that is so nasty that you have to use RO/DI to rinse a probe?
I'd be afraid to drink or shower with that stuff!:D
