Seperating Clowns

I have two relatively juvenile clowns. Had them about 9 months and they don't seem to be a mated pair. The black on hosts a hairy mushroom and the orange one hosts a recently added RBTA (which I am very excited about). I've read about some aggression issue with a mated pair spawning in a tank my size, and am now thinking of remove the black (larger) one. Will this cause any issues for the other that remains? Another thing is the black on seems to be the police of the tank...Do you think removing her will allow my YT Damsel or 6line to take over and wreak havoc?

Thanks,

My black and white pair ruled their 46 gallon tank when I had them. They still got along fine with most of the other fish, the only fish that seemed to really egg them on was a Midas Blenny. He was just curious and would get too close to their nesting area. They would chase anything that got too close, and he loved to check out "their space." That being said, a six line can get out of hand given the opportunity. I would think you should still be ok to keep both, but it's ultimately your decision.
