Another great club day out appreciating the beautiful ocean areas we have here in the south east and catching a few aquarium species for our tanks.
Now that some of the new memebers are geting more experience with collecting the club sponsored three day rental house on the water in November should be very interesting as to who gets what for their aquarium.

There were several other groups doing the same thing yesterday where we were and a couple of us joined in to help another guy for some tang herding for some indemic tangs for his aquarium.

The day was warm, the water for this spot was clear, the swell was small, basicly perfect conditions were watched carefully in planning to give us the best spot on the best day.

These are a few of us getting our snorkelling gear ready for the day's activities,in the shade of course.

A very nice spot as the club has been coming here since the 1930s,of course it is different now.

The day was so good we didn't get home until after dark.

It was one of those days where you left it till the last minute before deciding where to actualy go to get the best out of the day.

Most of us still got a little sunburnt with over three hours of collecting including my other half.

She doesn't overly like that spot as there are always a lot of young ladies there because it is a quiet spot sun bathing spot if you get my meaning.

Its just a short walk from one of the most popular beaches in Queensland and the beach was very crowded that day so there was over flow affect to where we were.

One of our young male members said i can't believe how many hot babes are around here, his eyes were nearly hanging out of his head, there were heaps of groups there doing what we do,two groups were all girl groups, two young ladies were on scuba, obviously had borrowed the gear as they had no idea what they were doing, scary stuff.

Lucky it is a shallow spot and a bit harder to drown there!!

:eek1:

That is downright scary. Who ever loaned them the gear wasn't doing them any favors.

You telling me?I felt so uncomfortable swimming past them,as a parent of two girls it made me feel so much like telling them what to do as the youngest of the two was trying to use the gear and kept tripping over as they were in around four foot of water and a slight swell was knocking them over,no weight belt which was a life saving thing i would say for them.

Imagine if they tried it with a weight belt on!!!They didn't even have the inflater hose connected,by the time i swam past them they would have had half their tank free flow out, half the time the second stage wasn't even in their mouths.

They gave up after about 15 mins from what i could see from when i was out a ways from them, the water was a bit cold and they had no wetsuits on.
