September Meeting and COTM

Ok, I am hosting a meeting Sunday, September 27 at my house at 5. I live 3013 Waterbury Lane in the Gates. It is off of Holmestown Road in Surfside. Enter through the main gate. Take the second left and then the first left after that. My house is on the corner. I have a red ford ranger and my wife has a white nissan rouge.

I also was thinking of doing a coral of the month. Aquatic Auctions always has nice acans. Some end up being a decent deal and shipping is only $ 17.00. This one is very nice. We could get several large frags out of it. My guess is that it would end up at around $ 100.00 shipped. I think we could get 4-5 nice sized frags out of it and that would cost $ 25.00 a piece. I have never fragged an acan but it is supposed to be easy with a band saw and a diamond blade. It think that would at least be interesting to do as a group.

Any thoughts?

Just as an anecdote...I fragged acans and micros all the time a few years back with a dremel and a diamond wheel. It really IS that easy. They're a durable coral, for sure.

Peace,

Chip

Dave- Does anyone have a band saw and a diamond blade? The two times I have split some acans, I used a dremel to cut the rock and a sharp razor blade to cut the acans.

just throw it on the ground and hope for the best. as far as a band saw i do not but i have a dremel and a roto zip. i know the blades for the roto zip are alot larger and should hold up better than the dremel blades.

My Brother in law has a band saw. I don't imagine the blades are expensive. I have read that that gives a cleaner cut than a dremel.

So are you guy interested in that? If so which colony and how high are we willing to go?

I liked the one you posted the link to, also like this one:

That fishnfrags lot K & L are both nice as well.

I'd really like to get a purple and green one but them seem to be the ones that go fast.

This isn't the best time for funds but I should be able to scrape up $25-$50 by sunday. Next month I'd probably be able to do more. Is there anyone else interested in the COTM?

I like the fish and frags ones you like as well. K would be my preference. I might also put in a bid on others if that is the route you would like to go.

I am not so crazy about ordering from somebody I don't know. Give me a call and we can discuss what to do.

We got this

Ok, I don't know why I thought a band saw and a scroll saw were the same thing. Can you bring the rotozip on Sunday.
