I have been working out dates for this year behind the scenes. It looks like the West TN Frag swap will be in October (and on our club calendar), so we have a slot opened up for September.
Bruce wants to do the big meeting like we did in October. Remember all the great food and raffles? He asked about the 3rd Saturday of September which would be 17th. What works for you all? We want the weekend that works best for the majority of members, so let me know if this weekend or another works best for you. I want to get this planned soon, so give me your input. No input means you agree with meeting dates and times. I would like to encourage active feedback on meeting planning and everything the club does.
Since this meeting had so many people last year, we have some options. We could have a Frag Swap that literally means bringing a cooler of frags to swap with each other. Even if everyone only brought 5 frags, we are talking about a lot of coral at this one. I could get vendors to donate prizes for the event, since that is what they tend to gear their better prizes for. Raffle money would be used to purchase more items to giveaway at meetings or here on the forum. What do you think?
Prizes which were not provided specifically for the frag swap can also be set aside for club meetings only, but the decision is up to majority vote.
Disclaimer: It is not MY way or the highway on club activities. The club direction is based on what the majority of club members decide. If I do make a final decision, it is usually based on lack of input.
