I also have a sequence dart pump that I let luminary borrow . it was never used before that and I think he has had it about 3 weeks and is ready to return it and that it is very clean . I want $175 firm. going with a smaller pump instead so no need for htis one. I think it is 3000gph and full specs can be found onthere website. it is 110v.
thanks for looking.

What don't you like about the Dart?

Was it too much flow? Not enough drain?

Was it a closed loop or your sump return?

I'm setting up a 150g high.

I never ran it or started it. I went with a tunze instead but the tunze is defective and I don't know if I can get another one so I may end up having to run it anyway. I let a friend borrow the dart for his skimmer so he could send his original pump back to get fixed.

Do you think 2 x 1" drain holes (2 inch durso tubes) with 30 inches of head pressure give me enough water in my sump to feed the Dart? The new reef Delbeek/Sprung book says approx. 2700g/hr. What do you think?

Not to discourage a sale, but no, 2 1" drain holes will not be sufficient. I am running a Dart as my return pump and I have 3 2" holes to keep up. And the water flow is still pretty fast. I had to end up putting silencers on both the overflow side and the drop into the sump to keep it quiet. It might be enough to keep the tank draining properly, but it will be loud.

As soon as I have some time, I'm replacing my ciruclation pump with something much smaller and putting the Dart on a closed loop.

I assume you have a all glass with 4 holes drilled? if you use all 4 for drains it will work and depending how you make the durso's can work. I do it like this in all the tanks I plumb. you have to make sure the stand pipe is oversized and the underside drain pipes should also be larger. you have to include breathers above at the durso and when it turns down to go into your sump. matts tank sounds great to me but we used different plumbing techniques. not saying who's is better they just work differently. I have 1 1/2 inch durso's and drain pipe running seperately to my sump and each dropping into it's own filter sock. I was trying to save power and not have as much water running through the sump because I bought too small of a sump and don't want to chance overflowing when power goes out.
I may have to do something about my sump or use a ball valve to slow the flow.
matt your input is always welcome don't worry if I end up selling it someone out there will want it for it's full potential.

4 1" holes should be fine to handle the flow...only 2 is too few though. Definitely there are plenty of different techniques to quiet things up. And there is something unique about my setup because it ended up being much harder to quiet things than I (and everyone I talked to about it) expected. Still, ~3,000 gph is a lot of water moving.

As Rob said, oversize your holes if you can. If they're 1", go with at least 1 1/2" piping.

Also, the Darts are 3600gph. At 30" of head, you'd be just over 3,000 gph.
