Sequence Pumps

I was wondering if the Sequence 1000 pumps were ok to use in saltwater. I know they have the Reeflo models that are safe but I have the opportunity to pick up a Sequence 1000 for cheap. It was on my neighbors pond they are are tearing out. But if its not recomended for saltwater then I dont want to use it.

I don't know which reeflo model that corresponds to, but as far as I know sequence just repackaged several models when they decided to market directly to the aquarium industry. Since it's a niche market they only repackaged certain models to keep costs down due to higher volumes on those certain models. So, they're just repackaged, no physical difference. You could repost this in the reeflosequence sponsor forum to be sure though. Maybe they've made improvements since differentiating the two lines?

Hmm, well the forum's gone. They must not be a sponsor any more. Maybe someone else will chime in with a more definitive yes/no about current differences.

Just be sure it has the saltwater seals in it. I have a couple sw3200 i use. Sometimes the pond pumps don;t have the carbon seals.
