Here are the first pictures of the prototype Reeflo Orca 200 skimmer that we are testing. The unit has been running for about 2.5 days now, and has definitely sparked a lot of interest around the warehouse over the weekend here!

The specs on the unit are as follows:

-Footprint: 14.5" x 17"
-Overall Height: 27.25"
-Chamber Size: 8" x 12" with 3.5" bubble plate (difuser)
-Neck & Riser: 4" x 8" (note prototype has 3" neck, production model will have 4" neck)
Pump: Sequence Reeflo Dart Needlewheel (restricted)
Air Intake: 1500 LPH
Wattage: 100w - 125w
Water Flow Through: 200gph - 700gph
Tank Size: 150gal - 500gal
Intro Price: $849.00

Guys... if you're looking for one bad (you know what skimmer), then this is it! 1500lph air in this size chamber is just ridiculous to say the least! We are currently testing the unit on about 250gal of water, and we are going to try and push it all the way up to about 650gal to 700gal just to see how it performs. Right now, I would have no problems running this on a 500gal moderately stocked tank.

Please note that the unit pictured has a 3" neck on it, but the actual production model which is targeted to be released the end of this month will have a 4" neck on it. I am currently getting the flow through dialed in on this unit as well. You can also see that the water level I am currently running inside the body is about .5" to .75" BELOW the neck. That gives you an idea of how much air this thing is pulling! I will update with more pictures as time goes.

I was apparently getting "happy fingers" when typing. The intro price should read $849, NOT $949.

If you compare that to any other skimmer on the market, that is rated in that range (ie H&S, BK, Deltec, EuroReef), this thing blows it away, not only in price, but performance isn't even going to be comparable in my opinion.

Thanks!
Jeremy

Looks very good. I have to admit that I was skeptical that the Dart, with it's water flow and air, would work on that size body. 4" neck is small, 8" chamber too. But the proof is in the pudding. Or should I say in the gack. It sure looks nice.

Jeremy: when you get to town my new toy should be here, hopefully you can get out to see it in action.

We can put that on your 37gal! :)
Yeah that wouls give me a good reason to upgrade right?:D I can hear it now, "Honey the skimmer is just way too big for the tank, so we need a bigger tank for it.":D

Hi Jeremy

It seems like the bubbles are very big , does a larger neck will solve this problem ?
It probably has more to do with it breaking in than the neck size.
