i just hooked up a sequence snapper to my closed loop. the pump housing is getting really hot. i can hold my hand to it for about 4-5 sec and thats it.
the inlet and outlet are 2in and 1.5in respectively. i was told by Premium aquatics taking this down to 1.5 and 1in is no problem. obviously you willl affect flow. that is how i have it. 1.5 down to the pump and 1.5 up to two 1in return with locline split again. in fact, i guess sequence used to provide an adapter with the pumps for this purpose. does anyone have this issue with heat? the reason i got this pump was less heat transfer because the motor is not right up by the wet side of the pump. i probably only have a half a degree going into the tank but i am more worried about the pump prematurely going. thanks in advance for any info you may have.
