I will be bringing some Tyree Tubs Rommel ATL Sergeant Slaughter Gray Special Limited Editions to the swap. They will be $200.00 a polyp with a minimum buy of 10 polyps. I have a few thousand available so I can probably make about 300 frags.
I am unveiling these at this point in time, so anyone who needs to get a loan from their local bank or Loan shark can do so before the swap. I know my PM box will probably fill up rather quickly so I will also allow buyers to email me if they would like to negotiate installment payments.
Here is a pic:
I know you are thinking to yourself, what is so unique about these palys that I should pay $200.00 a polyp for just one. Well I am glad you asked. I know these are not the most vividly colored palys available, but what makes them so unique is how difficult they were to acquire and how they became extinct in the wild.
First, I will give you the story behind their name. Well it all began in 1972 when Sergeant slaughter was flying a Appache over Siagon as he flew past the Nigu`shuck province all the sudden he came into great resistance from opposing North Vietnamese rocket launchers and AA guns. He lost his Copter and had to jetason via his escape pod. He landed in the ocean close to an uninhabitated island. :eek2:
When he reached the island he lived there for nearly three years before he was rescued by a small fishing vessel. He was unaware the conflict with Vietnam had been resolved and decided he would take along some of the gray palys in his front pocket. These were the palys he had used to extract palyotoxins from for his only method of survival, he had while he was on the island his "makeshift" blow dart gun. (Which by the way was skillfully crafted from a pack of Hubba Bubba chewing gum, a 1/7 of a dime, and a piece of ocean lava rock driftwood.) :eek1:
Anyway as he left the island it was destroyed by a vocanic eruption that was triggered by a fight between what he described in his journals as a "King Kong"- a very large gorilla type being and a "godzilla"- a very large lizard type being. Kong had been chasing him around the island and his only defense against it was his magical darts that had saved his life numerous times. He could only make these "magical darts from the neurotoxins he found in his gray zoas.
But to obtain the gray palys Sergeant Slaughter had to dive an astonishing 300 feet with only a "makeshift" life line to the surface (a tube he had constructed by connecting 4000 bamboo shoots with plumber's putty) that he had made 350 feet long to breath surface air- THIS IS THE REASON WHY THESE PALYS ARE SO UNIQUE.
When Sergeant Slaughter returned to the mainland he discovered the war was over and decided to sell his palys to Steve Tyree who was in the area looking for some unique and colorful coral that he could give a cool name and sell for three times as much as he paid for them. Just so happened he ran into SS and made the deal of a lifetime.
Let me give you the lineage breakdown for these palys, just in case anyone might believe they are not the true Tyree Tubs Rommel ATL Sergeant Slaughter Gray Special Limited Editions. Now you have the same opportunity as Tyree had to add this unique coral to your own personal collection. You can also find additional information on this rare coral by visiting the CORA reefclub.
