serial to wireless ethernet adapter

Yes it should work fine but a WGA11B or WGA54G would be cheaper.

Do either of those utilize WPA encryption? Or only WEP? I just bought a WGA54G from Fry's for 69 bucks and it only had WEP. Otherwise, would any wireless bridge work? FYI, i just found the WGA54G on sale at Office Depot for 24 bucks.

Might be a good option for those of you who still run WEP. As for mine, it is going back tomorrow and i'll be upgrading to something a bit more secure.

I would like to thank laurentm for all the work he put into this development.
A couple of months ago I came across this thread and decided to give it a try. The modification did not take very long although I did spend some time reading a number of articles on the web (due to the fact that I consider myself to have very limited computer skills). For those who wish to attempt this, I recommend that you read the previous pages and follow the instructions closely. The only change I would recommend is to purchase a null modem with the A232DBH3v kit in order to reduce the amount of soldering required.
Thank you laurentm, I certainly could not have done this on my own.

Has anyone tried using a serial to USB adapter, and then using a wireless USB device to connect to their router? Both my Tivo and xbox connect to my router using wireless USB and I wondered if the same would work for an ACJr.

Has anyone tried this? I have an old WRT54G Rev. 4 laying around but that adapter would be nice and easy!

Make sure you have a power adapter for this lying around or make sure you order one. It does not come with it. Now they are changing the website to reflect the lack of an adapter. now they want to charge me $33 to overnight it.

The Saelig unit does not do a darn thing. I can configure it but the ACJr will not be accessible. Do Not waste your money!!
I used a static ip of 192.168.1.105 port was set at 5000. Direct connect from serial port to saelig unit. Aquanotes does not see it.
Normal serial connections do work so the serial cable is ok and the serial port are ok. Saelig connection is a waste of money!! Guess I have to get a 3 or RKE one of these days.

Anyone know how many wireless bridges I can run using one wireless router? Is this running as point to point where I can only run one wireless serial adaptor, or can I run several of these modded WRT54G's using one router connected to my wired network?

I'm also using a serial->USB adaptor to connect to my laptop. I'm also interested in whether or not we could use a USB->wireless adaptor on the end of it.

I read a post somewhere that you can use an IOGEAR- GBS301 serial adapter with bluetooth and connect wirelessly to your computer. That is of course if your computer has bluetooth.
