i live in irvine cali, and i am very close to the irvine fires at the moment, i have most of my marine system in my garage and the main tank upstairs(indoors), if i open my garage will my system crash due to the ash or smoke in the air?? it gets humid in there and im scared if it gets too hot then i run my eco-cooler(coolingsystem that uses fans) i will have to open the garage

im really worried because it sounds like it might go on for a while due to the winds

sorry to hear that man, we are having so many fires in LA right now, and the winds will not stop until Tuesday :(

I would NOT open the garage for long periods of time. Maybe a quick 5 min "breather" is okay.. I don't think that ash alone can crash a tank, but I wouldn't risk it.

good luck

I can see the other side of that fire from my house in Orange.

Anyway, I'd run carbon in water and on skimmer intakes. Cover tanks when opening the garage and pray everything works out ok.

We had smoke/soot conditions for several months down here during the Okefenokee swamp fires. My tanks made it through fine. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless there are chemicals being burned. natural wood/debris shouldn't do any harm.

i got a blue air purifier that im running in the garage, should i throw in a large portion of carbon?

what does this mean"'id run carbon in water and on skimmer intakes"
when i run carbon i put in a bag and throw in my sump how do i run on skimmer intakes?
