Seriousreefers 1000 Litre Cube

Hi massman

So far i havent had any problems with any of my Pygmy's .
I heard that the Lemonpeel can be troublesome with corals .

I am hoping to be lucky and get one that isnt to coral happy.

Only time will tell .

Will keep you posted.

Dont take this the wrong way seriousreefer but don't you think your tank is a little overstocked with fish? I have a tank that is 200 x 70 x 80cm (1100L roughly) and im worried that 12 fish will be too many! with only about 5 of them being large/25-30cm MAX. how do your fish utilise such a crowded tank?

Very nice corals - the alien eye colony especially. One note, the colony you have labeled as duncans are actually palythoas.

Hi Jasonzacher4224

I was a bit worried the tank was to small when it was first built and one of the things i was very carefull with was the way i aquascaped the tank and so far i think it has made huge difference to fish behavior and aggression . I think this is something that is so often overlooked and i can have huge impact on the way that fish interact with each other in a closed system . I have also been keeping an eye on water quality and any signs of disease and so far i have'nt had a problem . So fingers crossed

Hi mcliffy2

I think you are correct there mate .

The polyp's where a hitchiker on a piece of live rock and a buddy of mine said it was a duncan polyp . I will be seeing him later

They are cool either way. I've got a hitchhiker zoa that is now about 300 polyps or so strong...its cool but also driving me nuts cause its spreading like GSP...

Awsome, thats really pushing the boundries of reefkeeping! how does the population density affect their behavior? what i mean is, are they constantly looking over their shoulders or are they relaxed and behaving naturally?

Hi Jasonzacher4224

My old tank dimensions where 180 cm x 60cm x 60cm

I actually had a lot of trouble in my old tank with aggression
Which i now think was due to space and aquascaping, there was alot less hiding places and the fish where out in the open more and in full view of each other. My new display is way more relaxed which i think is due to adding all the livestock at the same time plus due to better aquascaping.

I will post a pic of my old tank just before i sold it luckily i sold all the sps to a friend who promised me frags once my new system was mature and more established.

Hi

StripesthEel

How many fish would you recommend for a +-1000 litre display tank?

Added a new top-up system with a Aqau medic Kalkstirrer on saturday.

I am also adding some new frag tanks which will add 400 litres water volume to the system.
