Serpent Star/Brittle Star Article

If you couldn't tell, I've been studying up on my new tank inhabitants. One of the cooler parts of my CUC has been the green serpent star I got as part of part 2. It's great to watch him wander around the tank with the way he moves.

However, it looks like anyone with one of these might want to watch it with smaller fish as they grow:

Richard, do you have any advice on this? In a few months I was hoping to add a pair of b&w clownfish. I was planning to see how the 2 native fish do in there now with him in the meantime.

Yes, Denny that is true.

remember these are gulf critters and not the ones from other seas/oceans. I got a very large dark maroon serpent star and it is probably same species as yours. Just because it is green does not mean it is the one with the reputation for eating small fish.
