Serpent star fish

I bought a serpent star fish. I also got a reef Scarlett crab. I came today that I noticed some of the tentacles of the serpent star had been torn off. Anybody got an idea of what might have happened. Anybody ever had a violent Scarlett reef crab?

I hate herms and crabs in my tanks. Mostly for that reason. Bored snacking is what id chalk that up as.

A serpent star should be able to fend for itself quite well against a little Scarlett hermit. Those serpent stars are quite mobile and strong.

Hey Jay,changes in salinity will have that effect on serpents and other starfish.How long did you acclimate it for.I do a 4 hr drip on starfish.

The serpent starfish passed away but I have found a baby starfish in my live rock.

Probably a little minI brittle starfish. You will tend to see those often in live rock. Unfortunately, they stay about the same size, they don't get big.
