Setting up a coral species tank. HELP ME CHOOSE

I was originally planning on making this nano sps dominant with lots of acros but realized I didnt have the time and money to really maintian it along with my 58. So I have decided to create a species tank with one type of coral with different color morphs. THe nano is a 7 gal DIY made from acrylic. It has a 12 gal DIY acrylic sump with a ASM mini g. And mag 2 return. Lighting will be decided when the coral species is decided. The only fish is a arabian bluelined dottyback. If you choose other post that you voted for other and state your idea.

Yea but they are most susceptible to temp. swings! Esp. in Nano's.

I would go Zoo's! You can even lay them down on the bare bottom to cover it up

i vote you read the coral book which will list all the soft corals that would interest you.

i'd go zoanthids or montipora. zoanthids would be sweet if you got alot of different colors.

I voted montipora. I think in a tank like that, encrusting and plating montiporas would look really good.

I vote for montipora, because it seems like the zoanthid tank is so overdone. Sometimes it seems like everybody has one. Also, is that aquascape stable? I would hate to imagine what would happen if those rocks tumbled into the side of your beautiful acrylic tank.

Yes, each rock is epoxied down to the ground or the overfloew pipe, its very stable. I think I might go with montipora regardless the vote. But then when I think about it I just can't decide. I also think something more original like rics would be kool, but they are more expensive and slower growers. Ill just continue leting the pole go for awhile and maybe ill get more input that will help me choose.

good compromise but i want a tank with just one. I think it would take alot away from the look I want if a did 2.

It would be cool to just do one monit species like danae tankor just one color morph of zoos that I like that would cover the whole tank. but that might get kinda boring.
