I have decided to setup a new tank for my clown fish. I will be using just regular sand, not live. And all dry rock. I won't be using any rock from the 20 cause I don't want to take any chance of razor caulerpa in the new setup.

Should I use something like Instant Ocean Bio Spira? Actually just seen that on the BRS site. Or would I be better off just gettin' a bag of live sand for the dry rock?

You can use a cup of live sand from another system (Not the one with the Algae Issue) There could be spores from that Algae and you could infect the new tank again.
The AC has a product called Quick Start that worked great for me helping to cycle my current tank. I added SPS on day three using that stuff FYI

I used Bio Spira with good results on my first freshwater tank. :)

How ya been, Steve? Any new ink?

I remember Bio Spira a few years back that had to be kept in a freezer or fridge, can't remember. I think it was made by marineland then? I noticed on the BRS site that Instant Ocean has Bio Spira now and doesn't have to be kept cold. Reading on it sounds too good to be true, add Bio Spira than your tank is fish safe.

But, I'm not wanting to rush things, just didn't know if I need something to add some bacteria since using all dry rock and sand.

I now have a route 66 sign with checkered flags over a 57 chevy bel air logo on the inside of my right arm, right at the bend of the elbow....above Marilyn. I also got a 50s jukebox on the back of upper arm, tricep area. Have to go get it colored in a couple weeks. Still got a little way to go before my right arm is done.

Good to hear from you Brandon.

I used the Instant Ocean Bio Spira (which they have changed to a no need to refrigerate method) and I have had zero issues. I added one of the big bottles after putting in the marco rock and 80 lbs of live sand. I let that run for two days without the skimmer on and then added another bottle after that. I had a few diatoms pop up and the CUC nuked that problem in a day. Granted, I did use live sand from Carib Sea, but I still had no issues.
