Hi folks so we started our local aquarium here in the tropics Sri Lanka. And i've introduced a small marine tank setup for selling fish as well. We have run into some problem within our initial periods. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. Our temps run over 30c during day time so we have to keep salinity low around 1.017 in our qt systems. Is there any other thing which I can help to keep fish alive (Chiller, fans will not work due to expenses)
2. We have started bringing in clownfish and damsels from Indonesia but are having heavy losses. Most of them die after heavy breathing.
3. What's the best way to treat the system? I'm confused whether to run live rock or not. As in should I just out some non cycled filter floss only or should I keep some cycled rocks.
4. How should I treat the incoming fish? Should I start treating them from bag-aclimate bucket itself or let them settle in the qt tanks and then treat?
5. We lost many Clowns due to brooknella how can I prevent this? Formaline is themethod I know and few drop into qt the whole system become milky in color.
6. I've read at methods which says prazi 2nd day onwards, then cupramine 7th day onwards. How will the rocks work with the cupramine etc? Will they create milky colors again or is there a way to prevent this?
7. Should I take all the clowns lets say 2nd day and dip them in recommended formaline baths? Will this otveent them from getting Brook?
Thanks in advance
