setting up my 20 gal nano...fail!

I drilled for my overflow box too low..so as a result water line is 1" from the top ... I have two choices A.start over, buy a new 20 and make a new overflow box. Or B. Try and seal the teeth on my overflow box... What do you recommend..will post pictures so ya know what Im saying..

Can you put a stand pipe inside the box?

I say, cover the hole with another piece of glass from the inside and cover up that area with rocks. drill the other side after that. My poor 20 gallon.

Haha its in good hands! I will try sealing the teeth on the box first.
And I hAve no idea what a stand pipe is!

Its basically a riser tube inserted into the bulkhead. Raising the height of this tube to where the inlet is above the teeth of the overflow will raise the water level in the tank. However you'll loose a little surface skimming action though

Uh i see, Well that would be my last resort..I really want the surfaced skimmed.. So while I overcome this little srt back and find a water pump. I wanted to run this by you guys..

So I plan to keep everything..SPS, LPS and Softies.

MY Flow Will Consist of:
(2) Koralia 1's...400 GPH Each So: 800 GPH
(1) Koralia Nano..240 GPH
Total: 1040 Plus Whatever comes Out My Sump.

Is this enough flow or Too Much?

In the 180? Not even close if you plan on SPS, but you'll want to wait a bit for the tank to mature so your LPS and softies may be ok in the meantime.

This is my 20 Gal Nano . That 180 Will be set up a few months before I introduce SPS Or LPS

I have a single K4 in my 20g and it is more than enough.

I had 2 k nano 425's in the 20 and it was perfect. I also the smaller k nano 240 in the back behind the rocks but only used it every week or so to move deitris.

Sweet, I have a K4 also..but I have these laying around so might as well use them..

Couldn't you replace the overflow box with a taller one and call it a day? That's got to be more reliable than blocking the teeth and a stand pipe wouldn't really do anything except change the water level in your box. Unless I'm missing something here...it's been a long night.
