I'm new to here. I currently have my 2 clown fish in a 5 gal tank. obviously realizing that won't last. so I immediately got a 55 gal tank.
last week I put my Mixed my salt and added sand and water.
I have checked my salt levels and they are perfect.
I have been researching what I can and can't add in my tank.
currently in my 5 gal I have my 2 clownfish, 1 peppermint shrimp, 1 crab, and 2 snails.
with doing my big tank, I'm wondering what fish I can add that will go good with my clown fish.
I wanted a puffer fish, and maybe a yellow tang.
also can I do coral with those fish etc.
also with putting rock in the tank. I got one live rock in my small tank that I got from my LFS. I noticed the other night a couple hitchhickers. after go ogling the description I found out they are bristle worms.
I would like to avoid hitchhickers into my new tank. any suggestions
thank you in advance

Bristleworms are good. If you don't want hitchhikers, start with dry rock.

You can keep a toby puffer in your tank- they max out at 4 or so inches. Check out Valentinis, Leopards, and Blue Spots. The larger puffers are going to outgrow a 55 pretty quickly.

You cannot keep a tang in a 55- it's too small for the amount of swimming space they need.

You can do corals with these, but your shrimp is iffy with a puffer.

In my 55, I have two clowns, a Valentini, a coral beauty, two zebra dartfish, and a clown goby. I am hoping to add some wrasses, but I'm going to move soon, so I am not adding anything to the tank at this point.

Did you let the new 55g tank cycle with the new rock, sand, and water?

Unfortunately there is much more testing to be done with a salt water system than just salinity. Look into High pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and down the line Calcium, Magnesium, and Alkalinity.

A 55 is also too small for a tang, the tang police will be along shortly.
