i've never been able to setup my aq3 properly on the internet so far and was wondering if anyone has used this type of router in there setup and found away around the blocked port 80

i have it running well on my network and can access it from my computers at home but would like to get it on the internet asap . i was also hoping to be able to acces it from my blackberry as well

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks - Russ

Russ,

Many ISPs block port 80... Unless you have a router that you can map say a request from port 83 (as an example) to port 80 (and I don't belive the linksys software lets you do this) you are SOL.

Many people have created websites like mine, and upload information to them rather than accessing the controller directly.

The other thing you might want to look into is something like gotomypc.com or remote desktop (on windows).

thanks for the reply Dave , i thought there was away around it , in the linksys setup . just not sure exactly how i was shown ,

what do oyu feel is the best and easiest way to do this if the router is unable to find a way, the website ?

by the way great looking site you have

thanks -Russ

Russ,

I didn't want to expose my AC III directly to the internet (which is why I went the way I did)...

THere may be a way around the port 80 blocking, but I'm not sure (one way would be if the AC III could respond to non port 80 requests, but I'm not sure this is possible... you would have to ask Kurt).

Other than that the website is the best way IMO.

Oh and thanks for the website compliments.

Update your Linksys firmware to a thirdparty like DD-WRT and you will really be able to do some networking. Download the documentation first to figure out which version is for your linksys.
