Setup help on a 96x30x30

I am looking for a little help. Have a 96x30x30 with some tunze's in there now. A 6201 on each side. I want switch to the vortech's but I can't attach them to one side of the tank as it is built against a wall. Could I put 2 or 3 on the open side and get enough flow. The one tunze is on the overflow, so that is why it works on the wall side. However, I don't like the way it looks.

Thanks

You would have very good flow with three pumps along one of the 96" walls. Where are the walls with respect to the tank? Where is the overflow?

I have two corner overflows that are diagonal on the back corners. One side if the tank is right against a wall that is my steps leading to the basement. The other side of the tank is viewable and not against a wall at all. That is the only side I think I could attach the vortechs. I just wonder if only having flow on that one side is not adequate.

If you could, please post a picture. It is difficult for me to understand the tank's arrangement from your description.

Is only one side of the tank against the wall? Or is one side AND the back or the tank against the wall? I have 2 vortechs on the back wall of my 72" tank.

The tank is behind a wall and one side of the tank is viewable and the other is against a side wall. So you can view the tank from two sides...the front and the left side. The right side is up against a wall.

I'll try and post pictures or do a drawing.

I have 2 vortech's on the back wall of my 72" tank, and love them. They move the sand a bit near the front glass, but you may not have that problem. My tank is 72"x 24"x 24". Yours is 30"x 30" and the sand should stay put a little better.

You could also do the vortechs on the one side that you can access. There is a video in this sponsors forum where the vortechs are all on one side of a 10 fooy tank.

Either way 3 on the back wall, or 3 on the one side should do the trick. Keep us posted. Get a pick up if you can too.

If the back of the tank is open, which it sounds like it is but I am still not 100% clear, then I would say your flow will be great with three VorTech's on that back wall. 30" of depth is enough that the flow will disperse out and not create too much of a sandstorm.

Yes, the back of the tank is open. Currently, I have six returns on the back of the tank. How much lower than the returns should I put the vortechs.
