Setup Help Please

OK, tried the Profilux support forum, want to post but signing up is in German even if I select "English" at the top.

In any case, can someone help me with setup here. I have alarms for ph 1,2, conductivity and redox. I am not hooking these up just yet as I'm sorting the prob holder metric pvc issue!!!! argh!! I turned the alarm off on each of these (seemed to be defaulted to off already) and saved. They still come up. I trued disconnecting the Profilux from the transformer box but still does it after bootup.

I also cannot connect via PC at the moment because my desktop's mother board fried so only have the laptop for now. Laptop only has USB - no serial (argh 2!!!

I need to set this up using the controller only for the time being so any help would be appreciated. I have 2 moonlight sticks or whatever their called, 3 MH lights to hook up, fans, heater and temp prob in the sump. Looking to hook these up while I source out some metric PVC shutoff valves and plumbing.

OK, more fiddling and now I feel completly retarded or the controller's interface is far from intuative. I suspect the second

Tried the manual setting to turn all 1/10v dimmable channels on 80%+ but only 1 moon simulator bar fully lights up. The other only seems to display the red setting. Each are plugged into a L1/2, L3/4 connector.

The MH lights are hooked to the 1st 6 prong power bar. S1,2,3 run the 3 MH lights. Each of those lights are hooked to their own seperate Hi-Amp powerbar where the HA power bars are plugged directly into a 15amp wall socket. Then each Hi Amp power bar plugs into its respective S1,2 and 3 plugs on the digital switch bar. I've set each to come on manually but only #2 is on even though the red power light shows on S1 and S3.

Temperature indicator only shows *** indicating the fans are on. Fans are configured on s5 although I told it S6. Seems the plug numbering is messed up.

I also can't seem to get the 2nd power bar to respond. It is plugged in properly to both a wall socket and the Profilux.

I'm very VERY confused with this device. I'm sure the windows app would make things a hell of a lot more intuative but as previously mentioned, thats not an option for now.

Please help. Would like to config temp (heater, fans) to maintain 26C, dusk/dawn settings on Simu-L (I think thats what its called) and 3 MH lights with each MH coming on 10 minutes after the other. Blackout currently set to 11min. And make 2nd power bar available for the rest of my equipment.

It has been a while since your post, hopefully you have received some help. If not, visit this link and you might get more responses. These things are not easy, thankfully, I had someone local to walk me through it. Once you figure out a few processes, the logic follows all the way through. It is alot easier to configure the unit with the desktop software. Did you download the software?

Yeah, got that one so temp is fine now.

Just trying to configure:

- 2nd digital power bar. Not sure I hooked up or config'd correctly but it seems to work in tandem with the 1st digi bar. Socket 5 is on for both units. Socket 5 is still the default cooling socket and the tank is above nominal. Not sure why the second pb is in synch with it.

- Both Simu-L are sort of working. The blue/white part of one of them won't go on even in manual mode. Faulty unit or faulty config? The other channels work but I don't seem to have the timing configured right.

- I have 3 hi-output Profilux power bars each connected to their own socket on the 1st digital bar. (too many for one bar? should I move some to the 2nd if I can figure out how to config the 2nd?!?!?!??) Each of those hi-outputs is plugged directly into a 15 amp dedicated wall socket. If I swap the other 2 lamps to the middle hi output they light up fine but on the outer sides, they go on for a minute then shut-off and cycle through the config'd blackout recovery period.

I'm sure their are quick answers to the above questions. Can someone give me a hand please? Had the units for some time now and now that they are hooked up I'm suspecting faulty equipment. Would like to prove that wrong.

You have to plug the digi bar in by itself to configure it. You will need to disconnect the first one and then plug the second one in its place to number the sockets.

Swiseman is 100% right, there is no faulty equipment you are just not programming the devise.

From reading your questions I think it is well worth spending a few moments going through the manual as this is all covered there, go to section 3.16.21 digital power bars, it will walk you through this there.

But please do not concern yourself things are faulty you just need to go step by step and things will slot into place.

OK, got it. I will try this with the power bar tonight. What about the moon light and MH lights that I'm having probs with

Thanks for all the help. I also setup an account on this support site and got the help I needed.

I do however have a faulty LED light bar so I am replying to you to find out how I should return to get another one. I have the 2 light bars configured to run red in the morning and blue/white in the evening. 1 of the LED bars does not light the blue/white LEDs so I tried testing in manual mode where I can increase the dimmable % to 100 but still nothing. It works fine in "dusk" mode but moonlight does not work.

I bought the equipment from a company in London, Ontario however I am passed their return policy of 1 month. Can you point me in the right direction for exchange?

Hi

I am not sure what you are reffering to in regards to dusk mode, but for sure the stick is not faulty as it only reacts to the commands you provide it in the software and as it illuminates then it works.

Again I think you have set up issues, as so far in all the posts you have feared something is faulty it has turned out to be just not knowing how to set it up, so before we go rushing into sending anything back, drop me an email to sales@aqua-digital.com and we can go through this step be step.

I can assure you not one single part of your equipment is faulty, if it does not do what you want it to do it is simply down to getting it set up right and thats what the ther forum is dedicated for :)

I hope your right and just in case someone else is getting the wrong impression, I am quite happy with my Profilux :) And even if it is a defective part, these things can happen with anything.

you have mail

All resolved, nothing faulty, well actually yes there was apparently

A third party ballast - :)

The issue with the LED was that THP required the YL2-1 splitter to run the two LED's together off L1L2

All sorted :)
