Hello everyone,

I am looking to find out what kind of setups are you guys running your vtech on? From what I have read everyone has a reef, but haven't read anything about fish only. I am debating if I should get one for now and another later down the road. If I do it would go in my 220 I am setting up as fish only not sure as to pred. or community.

I kinda narrowed it do to the vortechs since no wires in the tank, which prevent electric shock, small units, no hoses nor pipes to run, and from what I have read a big bang out of a little fire cracker.

I looked into hydor k. 4's which move a good bit of water, but the are huge eggs and wires running from them same with the tunzes.

Sequence pumps look pretty good but the close-loop setup is a headache to set up correctly so the outlets are correct and you don't blow the fish out the tank. The inlets correct so you don't suck the fish in it, and they also suck down wattage.

So as you can see the vortech wins the battle, but not sure if they are really designed for fish only or do you really get your money's worth when you run them on a reef tank more so?

Hmm, Man so much feedback my eyes started hurting reading it all.

Well I went ahead and bought one and will have to play with it see when I get it.

Thanks for the reply. I was kinda looking to hear from some of the guys that use them. I read the post also the other day and asked one of the gentlemen about his pumps that has the same size tank. Looks like I will be getting a second one soon.
