Several questions about possible new additions!

I'm thinking over some addy's for my 29g. Anyone have any thoughts?

Long-tentacled plate coral (know these are supposed to be trickier than the short tentacled kind - how much so?) - also a little concerned about how well this coral would deal with getting partially buried every once in a while by the pistol shrimp.

BTA - I already have a RBTA. Is it a case of 2 anemones = 2x the pita??

Sun coral

Any ideas for any other shady area corals (besides the sun)? I have a semi-shaded area that I would like to fill - was thinking about possibly the long-tentacled anemone. I read in one place that it's a low-light coral, and in another that it prefers high light......

Thanks as always guys!!

Being buried in the sand would upset me as well :)
My short tentacled plate doesn't seem to fussed about it..... I usually rescue it, in good time, but sometimes it rescues itself.

I saw a rock 'nem at ARC when I was there for the frag swap - almost bought it.....

how about a couple of lobos? they are really pretty and fluffy (the guys are lovin' this description). I have several - they come in various colors...think you would like those, Lizz.

Possibly a nice rounded favia, platygyra or other type of brain coral? Rounded meaning it'd be harder for "the crew" to cover a coral that has some vertical height to it with sand during excavation... :)

A few examples: (our LFS sometimes get favia, platygyra, etc in at lower prices.)

Nice links Mel - I'll keep an eye out for that stuff. Actually someone (diverdick I believe) had a gorgeous was coral at the frag swap - almost bought it.... :)

block head - what issues have you had??

No one has any ideas about a lowish light coral for my shady area? I had the elegance there (RIP) and it seemed to really like the spot until the temperature raise fiasco.

My favia actually prefers the shade and gets quite peeved when in direct light. That's what made me suggest them. :)

Sounds like the perfect place for something like an acan lord, or a trachy brain.
