Sex Shrimp for free. If I can get them out...

I suspect my Sexy Shrimp of eating my acros. Not sure, but am getting rid of them just in case. I've got five.

IF - and it's a big IF - I can get them out of the tank, someone willing to pick them up at my home this weekend can have them. First come, first serve. Except that the first person that speaks up that has been to an ARKSC meeting will bump anyone that has not. Priority going to people that support the club.

Also, I'm getting a six-line this weekend. So they will not be around long. So speak up if you are interested. :)

Was about to ask, how will a six line react to these little guys until your last line :).

Good luck catching them :)

I've got 3 of the sexy's out now. One was too hip to the process and hid. The other I can't find. Maybe there WAS 5, but now only 4? Don't know will have to keep looking.

I got them with a 1/4" length of hose that siphoned into a bucket. Simple. :)

If I get the other one, I may not need that six line. It's primary purpose was to eat the sexy's.

Oh yeah, Georgi... I've been meaning to mention:
"I am an American, and cowardly."
That was an inside joke, for anyone else reading this thread. ;)

Bump.

All joking aside, no one want's these three sexys? Four if I can get the straggler.

Scolley, have you noticed if they pester lps like acans and other softies like rics?
They don't mess with any of my LPS. Never. Ever. And other than some GSP I got rid of all my softies, though I don't remember them bothering them either.

I've gotten shipments of coral that had necrosis underway when they got to my tank, and as soon as I put the coral in the sexy's would be all over them. Clearly they have a taste for necrotic SPS tissue. So whenever I saw them on an SPS, I assumed there was some necrosis happening, for some reason, and the sexy's were getting an easy meal. But lately I'm not so sure.

I've got a couple of SPS that have had die back on their tips several times over the last few months. And its just so happens that I've only had so many sexy's for the last few months. Anyway... the sexy's were always there, at the problem location.

First time it happened, I panicked and hit the spots with super glue. But after they recovered then did it again, I waited it out. And sure enough they recovered again. Until - weeks later - I find the sexy's on them again, and more coral bone showing. But upon looking closely, it appears that's what's died back is just polyps. Not the flesh around the polyps. And that's got me wondering... could the sexy's have a taste for new (fresh) polyps?

I certainly can't say for sure. And they do like necrotic SPS tissue. So they jury's out. But they're gone now, as I'm through taking chances.

But if my SPS diebacks stop, my money is going to be on the Sexy's being the smoking gun. Ask me again in 2 months. ;)

Steve,
I'd love the sexy shrimp. I have two maxi minis for them to host! The only problem might be my wrasse. I would hate for him to eat those guys. None of the fish go near the maxi minis though. I'm willing to try it if you are.

They love mini-maxi's. Unfortunately they are gone. Or rather they're at Westport Aquarium. So I'm sure they'll want money for them.

Sorry I didn't hear from you sooner. Would have been happy for you to have them pal.
