It is interesting that AC is suggesting the small units as Randy-Holmes Farely(sp.) about a year ago was suggesting the small units would make little to no difference. Check his article in reefkeeping mag and I think there was an episode of talkingreef about it as well.

For those of you worried about the dangers of breathing ozone, one other thing I could tell you that may help is that there are some plants that are very intolerant to ozone. If you can grow a couple of these plants they can be a good cheap warning signal that the levels of ozone are climbing. I forget which plants, but I have a lab with my plant propagation professor this afternoon and I will ask him to remind me. I'm sure you could find the information with a google search as well.

i would be interested to know which plants... i have lots of different plants in the house and can just move them around ...

-- my enaly sounds like an air pump -- it vibrates and that is probably the noise i hear. it is loud though ...

i have an mr-2 skimmer -- i think i can hook it up directly but i am not sure how --- i bought the skimmer used and dont have the instruction booklet... i will have to contact them and see how to do it....

eaton im pretty sure there should be a barb airline hookup on the outside of your beckett housing i believe. So like a 40% water change every two weeks or such?

I would think 25%+ every 2 weeks would be sufficient. He didnt really give a specific number. just said "Big"

Great so i gotta get rid of my gsp... I should be ok with mushrooms if i dont have any sps right?

Unless you have a football field full of gsp I don't think you need to get rid of it....just keep it in check.
the shrooms will take over before the gsp in my experience.

I'm actually in the process of bumping up my sump to a 75 so I can do bigger volume water changes....sounds like I'm on the right track with that then!

i have a disk of gsp... and shrooms i hav a few rocks with a few different kinds on them near a branch of zoo's....

Well this thread ruined my weekend!
I go and sell my ozonizer on Saturday and was going to start Zeovit!
Well now I have upgraded to a Sands ozonizer and a PinPoint ORP controller. This unit sould be able to work better on my system and not mess up my Skimmer.

I compared my SPS to a system on Zeovit and I must say my corals are very happy. It would have been cruel to change my system over.

A few words of wisdom. There is no short cuts to nice sps. Your trying to trick mother nature.
