Sfiligoi.

M59, "HQI" (430wHPS), icecap, and evc

I however have never personally tried the radium on this ballast. Only "white" type bulbs.

Remember that the 400w "HQI" is not an MH ballast, but rather a 430w HPS ballast that we use in the states b/c we don't have a 400w euro style ballast otherwise available to us. Whereas we DO have the M80/81 for the 250 and 150w bulbs respectively

What I do NOT know about the ACLS 400w is whether or not its just like the rest of the so called 400w electronic "HQI" ballasts (called this because they will fire and run 400w euro bulbs) or if it's a 400w electronic ballast truly designed to run bulbs like a euro ballast

Thank you Chuck..

I've been told by AO:

The ballasts are HQI ballasts and the brand is Vossloh-Schwabe (or B.A.G.) made in Germany

But i never heard of this brand, maybe u ,perhaps...

That is the company that makes aqualine bushke's ballasts. Or at least used to. I dunno now though since aqua medics aquisition of AB b/c if at all possible AM has their stuff made in China. The space lights used a mag ballast by voss that was heavy as heck. Again NO WAY can I believe that the ACLS uses a magnetic ballast. The boxes are too small and light weight. It's electronic. Now is it an electronic made by Voss? Maybe

ACLS-

The ballast in the ACLS is a TRUE GENUINE Italian Ballast. The ACLS is built completely from an electronic motherboard near Sfiligoi headquarters in Bassano Del Grappa. ACLS is an electronic Dimmable Ballast working with two patents!

ACLS is an Italian genuine like FERRARI !!!

I brought this back because I have a question concerning the technical data of the BLV (brand?) SE bulbs that come standard and recommended with Sfilogoi Infinity fixtures. I am not familiar with this brand and cannot find it listed on Sanjays site. Anyone have any PAR data on the 400W 10, 14, and 20K's? And if not, what are you using in your XR4s?

BLV=Ushio in terms of them being the same company. That being said, the 10k Ushio and BLV bulbs are a little different whereas the 14k bulbs are the same. I dunno the 20k.

Thanks for the reply. One last question though: What ballast comparision would I look for on Sanjays site to the ACLS ballasts. Anything close?

unknown what the ballast is like. It's electronic, but it may or may not perform like "typical" eballasts.

Hi ACLS owners,

I always wanted a dimmable light system but always hesitated from the high prices until a couple days ago when I stumbled across one of RC's sponsor Reef Geek. They have a clearance going on some Sfiligoi fixtures and ACLS. Thanks to Greg at Reef Geek my Infinity XR4 HQI System: 2-250W MH & 4-54W T5 HO w/ ACLS & Moonlights should be at my doorstep Friday. Just in time for the weekend!

I will be using this light system in combination with my Elos System 120.

Now for you ACLS owners! Any tips, tricks and pointers that may help me out? Any of you have any problems since?

Wll I have seven of these and love them. I biggest tip is that you must adjust your starting time by changing the SECOND longitude/latitude parameter; the first has no impact.

Did you get them up and running with the new bulbs?

Wow! Seven?! Now I can show my wife this thread so she doesn't think I'm crazy for buying one! :)

Second latitude, thanks for the tip.

Also I was wondering if everyone is satisfied with the original software? From what Alessandro told me, the new software is with 5 minutes of Sunrise/Sunset, the bulb life is extended and with new software you have the possibility to drive the T5 in manual (when the HQI is switch off). But you'll have to send your ACLS units for Italy for the update.

I did use the new bulb function. In one of my tanks, one that is not very deep, I also run the bulbs at 90% rather than 100%. These devices have a lot of nifty features, some of which I use, others not. But they are VERY quiet which is a big plus. At the moment I use the recommended bulbs but may move to Geisemann when I change.
