Hi everyone.

Been lurking around RC for a while now and rarely post but seeing as I have finally got a tank that meets the requirements of this particular section of the forum I thought I would post some of my progress with the build.

I am upgrading from a 4ft BB mixed reef tank which I am using for the sump in the new set up. The fish are currently in a 3x2x1 QT tank. They consist of 1x blue tang, 1x Occy Clownfish and 3x blue green chroms. I did have a mag. fox face but unfortunately lost him due to unknown reasons on saturday morning.

The new tank dimensions are 2000x650x700 (6.5x2.13x2.3ft).

Skimmer: Reef Octopus Vortex 1500, Aqua Medic Turbo Flotor 1000

Heating: 3x 300watt heaters

Chiller: Aqua One

Lighting: 8x T5 unit, will be changing to LED's

Fluid Bed Filter: Phosban Reactor for carbon and rowaphos

tank looks great shannon! Nice work!

Thanks.

Nice start on your build. I like the stand idea.

Thanks, the idea behind the stand was to get as much vertical space underneath the stand as possible but for it to also house a QT tank and in the long term a Frag Tank or remote fuge. I also wanted the tank higher off the ground so the smaller life forms at the sand level of the tank are closer to an adults eye level (bottom of tank is 1100mm off the ground). I also like this look cause the tank is visible from literally any part of the living area (lounge, kitchen and dining) and ya dont have to bend down to get a good look at the tank.

It's been a long time!! A lot has changed in this tank and just added a whole lot more rock tonight which made the tank very cloudy, have upgraded some equipment to including profilux, vortech MP60 and ATI Powermodule.

Pics of the tank after adding rock tonight, like the right hand side but am not convinced about the left:

I mainly just post on my local Reefing facebook page
If your reef tank's home page is publicly viewable you can post the URL to your profile here on Reef Central. Anyone who clicks on your userid here will then be able to see your home page URL and link to it to see more and keep current with your progress.
