Me and my girlfriend have been living in her parents house. Her parents retired to Florida 5 years ago. Since they moved no one has taken care of the pool. I found a heavy duty water pump so I decided to fill the pool with ocean water. Her parents went to Florida but we are in New York. After running the pump for 4 hours it ran out if gas. The pool is less then 25% full.

I planned on getting a thrasher shark, sand shark, horseshoe crabs, flounder and sea robins. Any other suggestions are welcomed, i am looking for things i can catch. I will be filling the pool with seaweed as well. I live in New York. Here are some questions I have.

1)Will I need a chiller or heater? The pool is heated but I am not sure if it works, it hasn't been used in years.

2)I assume it will be ok for me to do water changes and get food from the backyards. Is this ok? There is tons of shrimp and crab in addition to the fish.

3) is there a marine fish which will reproduce quickly which I can leave in the pool? I plan on sectioning off a section where the sharks can't go, like a big Refugium.

4) Any other suggestions?

lol this doesn't even sound possible in any way shape or form.

Do you have any clue how much it would cost to house sharks outside in New York? Let alone in a pool made for swimming! Chillers and heaters and food. Massive pumps. Your looking in the tens of thousands Of dollars a year. Don't thrashers get like 15 feet long? Please do yourself and these animals a favor and DO NOT ATTEMPT to do this.

I sincerely hope this person is trolling!

Aren't the sharks around me a cold water species? The pool has a built in filter and heater too. I will also be keeping my bioload low. I spoke to the DEC and they said as long as I legally take it i can do with it what i want. I live 30 yards from the ocean and could do water changes and get food for free. The pool is wither 50 feet or 50 yards, which is almost the same. What species shark do you reccomend. Will I need a heater for the winter. My girlfriend is rich and supports all my idea both morally and financially. Is there any cold water squids?

It's everyone's dream a empty pool. I don't want it to go so waste. I was also thinking of sinking a jet ski, small boat, or small helicopter.

I also have experience with big fish. I own Arapiama fish.

Everyone talks about keeping large fish. I am at least making the effort to do it. Of you are drinking the hateraid no need to visit my threads and updates. Pictures of what I accomplished so far will be up tomorow.

Please close this thread and ban! This guy is a troll and sorry to say a complete moron. Nothing your saying makes any sense at all. 50 feet is 50 feet. 50 yards is 150 feet. Its not the same. Most likely you wont be able to post anything tomm lol

Yes you will need a heater, a pool will freeze in the winter. Also take into account rain will change the sg also heat will change the sg. What do you have in place to keep that stable?

Fw big fish is much diffrent than sw big fish.

Sounds like a good plan. If I was you I will build a greenhouse around it to help hold the heat in. I am not sure if it's possible but you should set up your pool as the main tank and the ocean as a sump, 30 yards isn't that far. If you do this you won't need a filter. I hope you are not trolling this sounds like a sweet idea.

I just choked on my water when I read " use the ocean as the sump".

Ill give credit that sinking a helicopter in a pool is one of the most absurd ideas I have ever heard.

A troll, but a clever troll, he remains.
