Sharky's Reef - GRAND OPENING!!!

OMG, I stopped by there late today just to see if they were ready for the grand opening...... I'm really sorry I don't have any additional photos, but there was SO much there, I wouldn't know what to photograph!!! :eek2:

Suffice it to say that I have NEVER seen so much coral in one LFS at one time. Those twelve look-down displays are jam packed filled with frags, colonies and some absolutely HUGE corals! :D

I don't know what you have planned for this weekend, but you will regret it if you don't take the time to stop by Sharky's new store.

They have a kids play area and they will be serving doughnuts and cookies.

Come on ChiTown reefers, this is a brand new LFS in our market and they are offering some outrageous deals this weekend!

Just don't you dare look at the ones that I want!

mannnn I hope I can make it out.. sometime this weekend. I have over a foot of water in the basement, and a chihuahua that isn't using her front right paw, so I'm waiting for the vet to give me a call...

best weekend ever..

Great to see a number of you at Sharky's this morning! :D

Okay, so I way overspent my budget and I'm gonna be trashed by my bride because of it...... But, I like that too! ;)

Anyway, you have got to get out there if you need anything in LPS, SPS, Zoos, Softies..... Awesome selction and rediculous prices! I got a 7" SPS colony for $70 and a 5" Monti for $50. Oh yea, a 40 polyp pathoa for $35 and a Hidden Gem Chalice for $35..... The deals are there, but you gotta get there!

John M got a sailfin tang for $25 and SaraB got a beautiful LPS for $35. Johns got an awesome SPS for 45. If you are into zoos, look at the multi rocks, they've got a big bunch of them there.

The extra large Mantis is worht the visit, just to have him glare at you! Crazy prices on the Reeflx bulbs and dry goods.

Okay, I'm babbling...... Enjoy the visit! :D

The photos do not come close to doing this coral justice.. I was very impressed w/ their selection as usual.. to bad I didn't have more $$ to spend.

Well I went there and it was great got alot of stuff all for under 300.00 will post pictures after game.
BUT for all of you its well worth the drive also they are just nice
people.

Being a new member of CMAS (Nov 06) and returning to saltwater after nearly 30 yrs I must say that things have changed. And a real good change is the way good LFSs are run. I must admit that I was quite impressed with the setup and selection. Dennis and Anita were most helpful with this newbie. Purchased a few 'easy' corals and it was well worth the trip up RT 59 from east of St. Charles Sunday morning.

Hoping to win one of the door prizes just like the Nov CMAS meeting, LOL. $15 membership fee for a $75 prize was a great deal !!! I can expect that EVERY month, right ??? Thanks Boyd. Will catch some of you in DeKalb.

Sorry Dave, the bylaws state that any back-to-back prize won by a newbie must be given to the president! :p

Glad you could make it up to Sharky's!

It'd be sweet to get one of the prizes :D $300 could go a longgg way there :D I'd pick up some of that sweet micromussa they had.. Can't wait to go back.. I'm loving the clam and lobo I picked up. I had been to their house a few times when they ran sharkys out of their basement and even then it was impressive.. Now its off the hook. Every coral I've purchased from them has been very healthy and is still going strong.

Also forgot to ask.. anyone see that cute little ray they had in the 2nd tub w/ the blastos in it? He was trying 2 get some food from me when I was looking in there.. Makes me want a huge tank for a ray.. they're so awesome.

Puffer which are you talking about? The ray or the mantis?

Im sure the ray is for sale but I dont know how much.. & the mantis shrimp.. they had 2 peacocks.. 1 was $60 I think.. and the other $100..
