Shipping SPS?

Hello everyone,

I am about to ship a few frags of SPS to Colorado. I know how I want to ship and would like to know what you think.

Every frag is double or triple bagged with 2-3 inches of water. The bags are then wrapped in a few pieces of newspaper to insulate. The bags are then placed upright in a box and surrounded with peanuts and crumpled newspapers. Since the weather is hot where I am (90's) and hot where the frags are going (90's) I was going to add a chilling pack, which will be wrapped in newspaper to prevent direct contact with the frag bags.

My question is, what kind of chilling pack do I use? Where do I purchase these packs? And finally, how does my shipping method sound?

Also, we are both shipping on Monday for a Tuesday delivery, but what measures should we both take to ensure that the packages have been shipped and they are not simply withholding the package? I just want to ensure a safe and enjoyable trade with no hitches.

Thanks in advance,

Robert

You can easily pick up chill packs on the net by the case or buy locally. Basically just 'pop' and mix the two agents together and will keep cold for varying hours. I'd just ensure you drop off at shipping location the latest you can for air delivery (Typically around 8-9PM) and then they will be at buyers house by 10. That makes at most 8-12 hours in boxes.

I've also heard of better sucess of shipping coral upside down connected to a small block of foam. I'm sure some other RCers will chime in!
