Hi
Well I was doing some maintenance on my sump. Was called away for an hour or so upon my return I noticed a few of my LPS had retracked odd I thought, under further inspection all corals had retracted LPS SPS Zoas everything.Could not figure out why until I looked in the sump and noticed the small fluorescent light fixture I was using was half underwater grabbed it was extremely hot.
Thankfully i was running a ground probe so Fish where unaffected over the next few Hours the tank got very cloudy and all SPS either faded to a lite gray or white Not sure what to do, so did a water change and ran two reactors and a couple bags of carbon over the next 12 hours tank cleared up LPS seem to be coming back slowly However most of SPS Still faded some worst than others I can see some polyps but the corals themselves are faded
Its been about 24 hours since mishap

Now comes my question Is this a lost cause? should I pull the faded corals or is there a chance to save them?

Thanks in Advance

Bill

No I would leave them in the tank and watch them over the next few weeks very carefully. You might be surprised at now many will make a come back.

I'd leave it but run lots of carbon. Assuming light broke which prob contains mercury. In any event if the cause is fixed not just the symptom u should be ok

yep found it at my lfs for 12 bucks . droped it in and 24 hours later my rbta has doubled in size . awesome !!!
