short movie with my canon

Ok, honest constructive criticism here: focusing was off most of the time. Since this is the SPS forum, I would have preferred to see more of the SPS corals than you concentrating on the fish. During the very brief glances at the SPS I could tell you have some nicely coloured SPS in there. You need to spend more time on each or selected SPS corals. Finally would have really wanted to see the full tank at the end at least.

Main issue was the focus. If your camera doesn't autofocus in video mode then manually focus on a coral then doing another 'scene shots' and stitching the shorts together in software would have been better.

But nice overall, anD music was nice too. :)

Have a look at Andrews video. Notice how the scene changes between between focusing points and he either stopped recording between each time he needs to focus at another subject, or he has cut out the bits whilst he focuses on something else.

I think part of your focusing issue may be because you are using a lens that cannot focus up close as you would like? If that is the case, then take a step back. Record once you have sharper focus, even if the subject doesn't fill the screen, it is a better result.

Anyway the brilliant video linked above will give you an idea of how to go about.

I hope you don't take offence to my criticism. I only mean to help you improve.

Good luck. :)
