howdy all,
i have a 65g ( 36x20x20 ) w/ 30g sump and 15g refuge. the tank is mainly lps dominated. frog / hammer / fox / bubble / acan frags / blasto / GSP / rics / shrooms and zoa's. i have no fish yet. my question is should i add clownfish or no? ive spent loads of money on this and my wife wants a pair of true percs. but i know clowns can beat the tar out of corals they are trying to host. so my question is should i try a pair of clowns? or should i not? and your reasoning?

As long as you don't have a goniopora or alevopora the clowns won't hurt anything.

Keep in mind however 2 clowns will take up ALOT of that tank especially when they start breeding. < Probably 1/3 of it.

I really don't like clowns that much. < However I do want to setup a clown tank with a onyx and a naked or misbar clown with a blue haddoni carpet anemone :)

You already know that clowns can beat the tar out of corals. You have spent good money on those corals. I assume that you like your corals or you wouldn't be asking this question. No one can predict how a clown is going to behave. They are about as diverse in behavior patterns as we are. It is never a good idea to add clowns to a tank dominated by LPS's. There are people that report success with allowing this to take place. I would love to see proof of long term success. I do not believe the coral will do well long term. My vote is no based on the knowledge you had before you even asked this question.
