well, the question i have is above. i have a 40B with a 20 long sump/refugium. i have 2 ocellaris clowns (female 2.5 inches and male 2 inches), one canary wrasse (or yellow coris wrasse) at 3 inches, and a yellow tail damsel at 2 inch max. i just recently install a Bubble Magus Nac6. i also do about 10 to 15 percents water change weekly (hope to cut back with an oversize skimmer). i want to add a Melanurus wrasse and a rainford goby (or an anthias, most likely bartlet). do you think i have max out bioload? tank is mix reef with stony domination. Thanks everyone for your input.

I generally recommend one small to medium fish for every 10 gallons. Your bio-load is likely fine to add another small fish. If you think everybody will get along and you have enough swimming space for the wrasse or anthias then go for it. After that you our maxed out IMO.

Your present bio load seems fine to me but your yellow canary (H. chrysurus) still has some growing to do. I personally advise against adding the Melanurus. He and the Canary will get nearly 5" when fully grown (they grow fairly fast) and will be far too cramped in a 40. Halicheores wrasses will generally coexist together(I have 3 in my 210) but when you cramp them too tight I'm afraid something (someone) will have to give. Even considering their relatively peacefull nature they can be VERY aggressive when they want.
