Should I be concerned?

This is a new anemone, been in the tank for about a week. In first two days of having him, he deflated twice with brown stringy waste hanging from his mouth. He now seems to deflate about once a day( starting just before the lights go off) but without the waste hanging off him. As you can see in the pictures, the area just down current of the anemone is turning rusty brown. It's not the only place in the tank I see this stuff, however it is the only place on my substrate. ALSO, take a look around his mouth. I don't know if this white colouration is normal or not.
My tank is new(1month) but my LR, sand and water have been well established for 3+ years. I also have a much bigger clown in there than I should for this anemone. but it's a clarkii and I've been watching carefully and she has hardly touched it. SO, I'm concerned with the discolouration of the substrate, the white on the anemone, also how often it deflates down to nothing( like the size of a dime) Image1464290107.442676.jpgImage1464290169.841021.jpgImage1464290238.262041.jpgImage1464290281.772160.jpgImage1464290304.164387.jpg

That's not much rock, so established or not your tank looks still very new, and typical of new tank issues

I had much more rock, but took it out the other day.(still haven't topped up the water level as you can see) it seemed like the fish had no where to swim and I didn't see them hardly at all. Is there a certain amount of LR that should be in there? I knew I should have at least 1lbsand:1Gwater and so on but never read anything about the rock. Just thought it was preference

General rule of thumb is 1-2lbs per g but that may vary depending on density, but being a big part of your filtration system the more you have the more benefit and easier to just do a swap and call it good w/out cycle issues.

There are ways of keeping it minimal if you wish, LR in sump can help, but really I think you could have more rock if just scaped properly, but bottom line your tank still looks very new, and a nem may not be happy if it is not in balance param wise.

Or you can put Marine Pure Ceramic Blocks or Sera Siporax in the sump. They act as live rocks. With those, you don't need as much in the DT

substrate looks like diatom. tank is still cycling imo even with old rocks. It has probably gone through the initial cycle. I consider diatom, cyano and all that lovely early stage algae cycle

white string around the mouse is signature BTA.

deflating daily is a sign of a stressed BTA. For a new anemone, usually I'd say it's ok for the first few weeks up to a month.. but your tank is new. the BTA may keep expelling till there's nothing left and die.

pay attention to its tentacles. are they getting shorter? if they are, it's wasting away slowly

Thank you for the help guys. As for his tentacles, when he re-inflates they seem to be at least the same size if not a little longer. I'll keep an eye on them in the time to come.
