should I be Concerned?

I bought a colony of zoo's about 3 weeks ago. Everything looked good until about 3 days ago when most of the polyps didn't open. They are close to the surface in my 24g aquapod.

About two weeks ago I noticed a smaller sized snail out of the blue on the colony and didn't think much of it.

So today I bought Lugol's and mixed it up for a dip (40 drops to 1gal of reserve tank water). However prior to that I dipped it in tap water and rinsed off a ton of debri along with that I noticed about 5-6 tiny snails exactly like the other I previously found. I removed them prior to putting the colony into the Lugol's mixture.

After the dip the majority are still closed. What is the next step?

Hopefully it's not too late for these.

So should I worry about the snails? Seemed a little strange to have 5-6 new snails growing on the colony. Also there was a translucent tubilar jelly substance in a couple of places.

Are any of these troublesome? I will dip the second time this evening.

maybe, maybe not. can u get a picture of the snails or a description?

the jelly like substance could be the actual zoo melting. some zoos do this when they come from the wild. i find it odd even with zoos from someone else's tank that just plain melt away for no reason.

I dip all of my zoos in tap, higher PH, plus a little chlorine always helps kill critters and it has never effected my polyps. I do make sure they are all closed before dipping. good luck
