Should I be worried?

I have a g. smithii that is MIA. He is a very active shrimp, but for the last 4 days has not even come out to eat. I hear him in there and originally thought he was molting so wasn't worried. I am on day 5 without seeing him. What the heck could he be doing?

mine is still holding up in his burrow, but he poked his head out today to see what was going on and he is now a bright green, how big is he?

Mine hasnt been out in 2 days and his burrow is sealed with shells and rubble. Hes 2 1/2 inches, but have no Idea on how long hell take to molt, im assuming thats what he is doing.

Dr. Roy told said in one of my threads that it only takes a few minutes to shed the old shell, and the mantis should be out in 5 to seven days after they seal up.

My n wennerae once hid for ten days before he came out of his cave after a molt. The average is about 6 days so I was a bit worried.

Tim's (G. smithii) record is 13 of 14 days. If you're still hearing him he should be OK. Sometimes after or before a molt Tim will 'prepare' his burrow by chipping away at it to make it bigger.

Good luck!

Still no sign. I rearranged the rocks and I was trying to figure out if he was dead or not. No sign of him. This morning he definately is still clicking.

Frustrating!!!

shouldnt be a worry mine dissapeared for about a week after he molted. They take awhile. be patient he should be fine.
