Should I bother....

Finally picked up my tank and stand. Next purchase will be sump and skimmer.
Looking at the eshopps rs 100 sump and reading a lot (too much!) about skimmers and wondering, should I just go with the eshopps in sump skimmer that is designed to work with this sump or look at other brands?
Also, is it better to paint the back of the tank or use the peel and stick backgrounds, just want a nice deep blue.

Congrats on the new tank. Having used them multiple times, I personally like the Eshopps skimmers and sumps and have had nothing but good success with them. I currently have the newer R-300 sump/fuge and the S-200 cone skimmer. I prefer to use peel and stick instead of paint (I actually used dark window tint on mine), but it doesn't really matter either way.

I would prefer to paint but my lfs says the paint will definitely peel over time and the peel and stick will be the better option.
i know that the back of this tank will not be accessible so I want something that will last back there.

I've never had my paint peel, I believe I have always used an acrylic base, just be prepared to do quite a few coats and allow proper drying time in between

I used a window tint as well, supposedly I will regret it eventually but it was cheap, easy, and if it does fail it's a good excuse to get a bigger tank
