hi guys.... i have about 90lbs of lr and 10 of base rock.... i have a 3" gap between the right wall and the back of the tank... i think i might move the wall back and add like 20 more lbs on the front tilted towards the wall to create more areas for coral...or should i let it be? been cycled for 2 weeks already getting red and green coraline looking rock. have thousands of copeods some small sterfish in the fuge, tons of feather dusters, some frags, many hermits and snails. adding 2 clowns in a week or so...

any ideas or comments or suggestions on the aquascape would be greatly apreciated :)

full tank shot...

Hey, how come you made two threads?? I just responded to the other....

Do you have anything holding the rocks together like putty or cement?

Heres the issue I see. All your rocks go straight up. The issue this causes is that any corals you have at the top of your tank are going to shade anything below them. You want your rocks to be tiered, or to create a nice slope/hill. Not a straight drop off. Also, more surface space means more room for stuff to grow. And if you have more open space at the top of your tank, stuff will be able to grow taller. If your rock is like 5 inches below your waterline, only very short things will be able to go there.

well people have suggested leaving it so that the fish have more room to swim in the back too....sort of like double tanks...

however im thinking of stair ing up the rock...i will move the bottom rocks about 2"s from the back that way maybe some fish can swim down there, and start shifting the top rocks to where they touch the back....and make a new cave on the front...

any other suggestions? keep it to one island? i want to have it how i want it before adding the fish..

and no they arent glued together or anything, just securely stacked...

You are a brave man.

just redid it. poor hermits and snails didnt know what was going on, they like it alot more now and almost all my rock is exposed to the light. will post pics in an hour when the debris settles :)

alot better i think..

my new aquascape alot happier now, no spot doesnt get light except the caves. i think fish will be so happy here...

what ya think?

Full tank shot! Did you leave enough room for the mag float to clean the glass on all sides of the rocks??.... learn from my mistake :)
Otherwise looking good and seems better for the coral later on.
