I just bought a used 187 gallon rimmless tank 60x24x30. It is 1 inch glass all the way around and weighs alot!

My question is, do you think it is tempered glass? It seems to be an older custom build. Is there a rule of thumb for tanks being made with tempered glass?

my guess is that if its chipped on the edges, which it is, means its not tempered.... fingers crossed!!!!!

you could alwasy call up a local glass shop they could tell you if it is or not?

someone on my local club found a thread on how to tell if glass is tempered. looks simple.

187 gallon with 1 inch thick glass i say glass not tempered =) GL drilling it dont drill bottom though
