Oh boy. Our GFCI tripped, don't know how long without power but found my 1 month old baby seahorses were floating at the top.
Should I euthanize, if so, how?
Two seahorse babies recovered from floating!!!!! They were floating side up after the GFCI blew and I was so heartbroken.
Here they are!! The second baby was kind of far, so it came up dark.
How are they doing? If a seahorse baby is 4 weeks old it is considerably stronger than the ones who died off in the first week. If they can still get to food they should work through the floating problem. Good luck.
Thanks for asking, they are doing great!
Both have fully recovered and are eating baby brine shrimp.
I just don't know when they are supposed to transition to mysis?
Do they have to go through a tigger pod stage?
you can move them to cyclopeeze at this point and mix it with enriched frozen bbs. The easiest way to train is to put the frozen in at the time they are used to being fed and wait 30 minutes or so after that to add any live. Some may not switch but the ones who do will grow fast.
Wow, that is great news.I was going to suggest feeding them to the other fish or critters you might have. You know, circle of life stuff. I'm glad I kept my fat yapper shut.
