Should I get this ? ETSS 800

I am setting up a 220 gal reef tank and I have the ability to get a used ETSS 800 for $300 from a guy in town. I am pretty new to the world of protien skimmers so I do not know if this is a good deal or not. I am going to be running a 70 gallon sump with this tank. The guy also has a 1400 that he wants $550 for but I think that is over kill.. He has the 800 up and running right now so I know it works. Is this a good skimmer and is this a good price for a used one..

I have not had one - however ETSS are out of favor with home aquarist, I assume, because of the big power hungry pumps needed to run them. I always heard that they worked really good though. I have thought about getting a Reef Devil myself. It should be a good skimmer as long as you get the right size pump to run it.
