Should I rinse my sand?

Don't really want to as I would need to use unfiltered water since its about 350 lbs of sand, can I put it in the tank dry and just fill?

Thanks

Cool, fixed a small leak on the skimmer body last night with some silicon, have all the plumbing done, going to fill tonight and do final rinse and leak test, drain tomorrow and sand goes in on Saturday!!

If you do rinse, don't use tap because as I understand it, the sand traps phosphate and then leeches it out as it dissolves slowly.

I think my last tank had that problem. I had put a bunch of southdown in a tote out in the driveway and stuck the hose in it. Every so often I'd go out and rake through it deep with my hands. Overall the hose ran about 4 or 5 hours. Later I went through a lot of phosban to get to 0. I was an overfeeder and it was used rock so I can't be certain but after working with phosphates for the first time ever I'd never do that again just in case.
