I have a 150 gallon tank that is mostly zoa's, paly's, ric's with a candy cane, frog spawn and a bubble. My tank has been set up now for about 5 months and I am running a Euro-reef rs180 skimmer on the tank. Should I be running a skimmer or not?

Why do you feel you should always run a skimmer Delsol650? Just curious.

Wampuscat, how heavy is your bio load?

How deep is your sand bed?

I would say that you can be much less concious of what you're doing in the tank if you're running a skimmer. Nutrient export is important, especially if you're regularly feeding, and you can substitute filter socks and frequent water changes for a skimmer, but it's more work for a similar cause.

exactly. Basically a skimmer acts like a safeguard. keeps doing nutrient export, airates the water, takes out the crud off the water constantly compared to bi-weekly water changes ( which I do even with a skimmer )

Mucho, I have 2 ocellaris clownfish, six line wrasse, green wrasse, orange spotted diamond goby, green mandarin and a gold head sleeper goby. I feed my tank once at night, usually pellets. I have not ever really fed my reef. I did just pick up some rod's food. What do you guys feed your tank's?
