should I wait

I finally have water in my tank. I have everything on my system but the lights. I am wondering if I should wait to get the live rock or will it be ok without lights. I probably won't be getting the lights for at least 2 months. Thanks for your help. Linda

Go ahead and get the LR and put it in. That will make your tank cycle. You can go without lights on LR. Atleast thats what I have learned on here. If I am wrong someone correct me please. I wont be offended lol.

Lights would help. If, you have some desirable hitchhikers worth saving.

Cycling liverock without light is referred to as cooking ,many people do it to remove unwanted hitchhikers . I usually go about 2 weeks to keep algae blooms to a minimum

i had the same problem: i put a strong sewing-light near my tank for 2 weeks, but window-light or ambient light will probably do just fine. Impossible to balance the heating until you get the lights, but that'll be the only downside.
