Should my dosing tubes be submerged?

I just started dosing a two part additive a week or so ago. (Actually, right now I'm just dosing the alkalinity part as my alkalinity was quite low and my calcium quite high). But in any case, I let it run for a week or so and I just noticed that I had a 2 inch stalactite on the end of the tube where it was dripping into the sump.

I had originally set it up with the tube a few inches above the water's surface to avoid potentially starting a siphon, but is there a better way to set this up?

I have my ATO outlet positioned so it flows over the ends of the dosing tubes and keeps them clear.

That's a great idea. But unfortunately I'm not sure it'll work for me as my ATO is plumbed through a float valve:(

The roller type dosers tend to be resistant to siphoning. But I keep the ends out of the water just in case.

If you're getting build up, you could dilute the alk solution and dose more of it.
