Wow, Jbplay.

I've never seen one of the marbled bta's blubbled. That is CRAZY looking :-)

That was right after I put it in the tank a month ago. Now it's bigger, the bubbles are fatter, and some are forked like an inflated latex glove.

55semireef= nice anemone nonetheless. I also love your avatar, my boys got their a**es handed to em by Miami, but they'll be back next year. Go Pistons!!!!

jbplay= does the marbling glow under actinics?

Here ya go. This is under 4x65PC 2 actinic 2 12000 daylight starting just today. Its been under 4x54 T5 2 actinic 2 10000 daylight for the past 6 months.

When I got it in January:

I don't run actinics, just the 14k Phoenix bulbs. He'd moved under one of my returns a couple of weeks ago and I just put him in a new spot with a cave for his foot last night. Tonight he decided he liked the new spot and ate a silverside. Some of my corals flouresce under the blue moonlights, so I'll look tonight to see if the marbling does.

OK, I just bought a 175 watt halide system. I wanted more watts, but the sensible half wasn't going for it:D. What she doesnt know is that I'm going to run this along with 2 2x overdriven NO bulbs. Comes out to be about 275 watts total. My question to you guys is, What bulbs should I run? Would a 6500K halide with overdriven NO actinics be too blue?

dfcjr, its weird because Condy anemones need strong lighting. MH is preferred and its living under PCs. Its toward the top but I get 4 watts per gallon in my 55 long. And when I got it, it was really white or bleached and it has come along.

Thanks for the compliments. GO Pistons!!!

BTW, I just came from Miami.

finally i find out what ive been wondering about my bta. looks just like some of these they call marbled bta's. ive never heard of them and just thought mine was weird. it just split a couple months ago. anybody have info on lights for bta. what works best. i have 2- 250 watt 10k.

Here's my main RBTA:

I wish there was an explanation to why some BTAs have bulbs and others have long tentacles etc.

Mine seem to get extra bubbly right after I feed them. Every 5-7 days they get small chunks of silverside or shrimp and they bubble away for a day. Otherwise, they get a squirt of pureed mixed food every night when I feed the fish and they stay stretched out. I like them both ways. The pattern on their disk/mouth is amazing in itself.

And thanks dfcjr! As for your light question, I think that 6500k bullbs are very yellow, and with the actinic supplementation you may get a nice white balance. I would be worried about it being too yellow instead of too blue. I run 1 bulb out of 6 as the 6500 and it makes a huge difference in the color of the tank. JME. I like the 10000k +actinic or the 14000k alone.

Nice pics everyone!!

kewliz= What kind of lighting is that under? I love that pink.

Believe it or not - it's in a 12 gallon NanoCube DX - stock lighting.

Here is mine. Every month it has gotten bigger and bigger. Maybe my percs will recognize it, otherwise a skunk will have to come in and stink things up ;)

rrr757= nice pics

I'm having a hard time finding a rose around my house, can anyone suggest a good online place to find one?

Personally, I would not get a BTA online. Shipping anemones can really stress them out plus you never know what condition they might come in.

Am I too late? ;)

Here is a pic of my one RBTA, that is 7 strong (in the pic from july.) Now Im up to nine. Just split again last week.

I am assuming BTAs grow really fast since some of them split so often... here is my baby

NanoDayComic006.jpg

Its so small. Right now it has more bubble shaped tentacles then longer ones.
